• Topic 2 - Katacoda is similar to a concept that I had a while ago, I called it Cloud Garage Labs, and I’m really glad Katacoda exists now. Tell us about all of the technologies that engineers can interact with today?
• Topic 3 - Let’s walk through the user's experience. Beyond the browser and reading the interactive tutorial, what does a user have to do?
• Topic 4 - Some of the topics are vendor-specific (e.g. Weave, OpenShift, etc.), but many are more generic. Who is creating them, maintaining them, and how do you choose to add new things? Are there costs to adding new topics?

• Topic 3 - One of the talks you often give is around this concept of “breaking up the monolith” (BUM). Give us the basics of what this means.

• Topic 4 - For companies that have existing monolithic Java applications, what are some of the basics that are helping them ship faster or creating better quality code? Is this more about evolving middleware technologies or is it more about evolving culture and process?

• Topic 5 - Let’s talk about microservices in the Java world. There is the Spring framework and elements of the NetFlix OSS tools. Is that the evolution of Java, or are there additional options for companies?

• Topic 6 - It’s January and everyone would like to get in better shape for the new year. What’s your Java application equivalent for people to eat better and exercise more? Or does everyone need to join the CrossFit of Java?

Introducing "ByteSized" DevOps Podcasts

Today we tried something a little different. As we've shifted the focus of the podcast to have more focus on SaaS, DevOps, Public Cloud and other topics, we've added number of new listeners (up 40% YoY). For many of them, these are new areas of technology. So we thought we'd add something new...

We're calling them "The Cloudcast - ByteSized", and they will be a series of ~ 10min podcasts that just cover the basics of a given topic or technology.

NOTE: We're still going to do (mostly) weekly shows in the normal formal as well. We'll just mix these in from time to time.

Here's the first batch. They should all be consumable independently, but we're also trying to loosely link them together.

You're the best audience in technology, so your feedback is greatly appreciated.
